Darlene Cole

Simply glamorous again showing at her blogg her good eye for arts and everything else!

Darlene Cole received her B.A. in Fine Art from Queen's University, Kingston and her Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Waterloo. Darlene Cole is a rapidly rising young Canadian artist with an impressive exhibition history (Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Oshawa; Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Kingston; and the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, Kitchener) and is represented in collections across Canada, the U.S.A. and the United Kingdom. From small oil on panel works to large-scale canvases, Cole captures loosely rendered moments in time. Her gestural brushstroke and curiously cropped imagery create both energy and tension. She is interested in what she perceives to be the disappearance of childhood. Although she sets up a narrative through her contemporary figurative painting, Cole does not supply any solutions and it is this sense of mystery or secrecy that makes her painting intriguing.
